In an act of old-fashioned gallantry for which I am famed the length and breadth of, well, this study at any rate, I would like to make mention of two blogs with a theatrical flavour run by ladies. First, Anna Waits, who has been to see the eagerly awaited Richard II directed by Trevor Nunn and starring Kevin Spacey at The Old Vic. The female, being the deadlier of the sexes, she carves up our hero and sends him back to Hollywood in several boxes! Makes my grumpiness over Twelfth Night (see below) seem positively benign. Then 'la Rullsenberg' defies me, yet again (this is no way to win my love, Lisa!), by puffing that glistening pile of 'sugar and spice and all things nice', Death of a Salesman. There was a nasty rumour to the effect that Walt Disney had really written it, but one mustn't say so lest the estate of that old, multi-zillionaire socialist sues!
