Should you be waiting a few months? Don't prices tend to be low in January? (They certainly were 17 years ago when we last bought.) Or is your timing meant to take advantage of the number plate change? Or has your present car thrown in the towel? I think we should be told.

You know me, DM, never let a tedious tale be told without some embellishments! Actually, I bought the car from an old friend who was trading it in for a new one. Today was swap over day.

Wot you done wiv the old one, then, Duffers?

P.S. I don't have so many friends that I'd care to risk a friendship over a car.

The old 'un was passed to a motor trader pal of mine to dispose of as he thinks best, thus, like Pontious Pilate I wash my hands of the consequences!
