Oh no, Galloping Brain Ache this morning: And I blame that Richard J. Bird! He's that computational maths swot who wrote Chaos and Life, a book that didn't so much blow my mind away as blow it up! Now he's come out with another one, What is Evolution? A Computational Complexity Approach. Well, judged by the first few chapters it's certainly 'computational' and definitely 'c0mplex' - and yet - and yet - beneath all that is an elegant simplicity that explains the abundance of life forms. It also blows a hole in 'Archbishop' Dawkins' theory of tiny incremental changes that lead, eventually, to speciation. Anyway, I will no doubt be boring you all to death as I read further into this marvellous book - so stand by!
When 'Jezza' flashed his, er, black credentials: According to The Telegraph, back in the '70s 'Jezza', having recently split from his wife, so arranged matters that he and a group of 'Leftie' leaflet distributors suddenly returned to his flat where a naked Dianne Abbot lay on a mattress on the floor underneath a duvet. The man's an absolute rotter and a cad, as well as requiring a visit to Specsavers!
Pub lunch today: Yeeees, quite, so there's no knowing when I'll be back nor what state I will be in!
She won't last long: I refer to Ms. Angela Eagle of the Labour party who is reported to have said, in direct contradiction to her less than glorious leader, 'Jezza', that the Falkland Islands was an issue that had been settled a generation ago, and that stopping companies from paying a dividend to their shareholders because they failed to pay the minimum wage was a non-starter. Well said, Miss Eagle and I hope you enjoy your return to the back benches!
More rumbles later . . .
