They do things differently 'oooop north'! Down south, or way up in 'Glasgie', we just get pissed on a Saturday night and 'the Old Bill' wait out of sight until those unable to actually walk stagger out and then they move in, give 'em a good kicking and send 'em home. But 'ooop north' they tend to get 'industrial', as they did back in 1984, when that nasty little agitator, Arthur Scargill, the Commissar for the Miners' Union, formed up several thousand so-called 'pickets' to stop trucks from entering Orgreve to collect coke and coal. 'The Old Bill', having been caught out before by massed picketing, decided to go in for a bit of 'massed policing'. There then ensued a major punch-up which was enjoyed by everyone not least because no-one was actually killed.
Of course, like all old battles, the veterans (on both sides) no doubt lived off their tales of glory for years afterwards. Unfortunately for the plebs, Scargill possessed the abilities of a WWI general and found himself up against a latter-day Boadicea in the form of 'that woman'! Well, he didn't stand a chance, one swing of her handbag and he was finished.
And today, yet another woman has stepped into this fester-pot of an affair because no sooner had the scabs healed over the cuts and grazes than the Leftie lawyers and the even more Leftie agitators were in like flies round a latrine demanding a public enquiry which would serve two special requirements, a chance to slag of 'the Old Bill' - again! - and the Tory party - again. Alas for them, despite decades of agitation, today they ran full tilt into another woman more than prepared to see them off. Our new Home Secretary, Ms. Amber Rudd, not, I confess, my favourite either, took a long hard look at this jumped-up campaign for a public enquiry and decided it was not the business of a government to supply the Trot-lot brigade with years of free soap-boxes for them to spout their Leftie tripe! In effect, she told them to piss off because it was all "blood under the bridge" and no one actually cares anymore!
I might grow to like Ms. Rudd.
