Oh alright then, no you wouldn't, so let me ask you another question, would you vote for him? He is, of course, the current leader of the 'Unite' union which appears to be anything but united! Apparently the votes are in and being counted, er, well, being 'sorted' is perhaps a better description because Mr. Len McCluskey (for it is he) is for the first time facing some considerable opposition from a very plucky prole by the name of Gerard Coyne who is running for 'Red' Len's position as General Secretary of the union.
The result will not be announced for another week, well, er, 'sorting' the votes is a long job, but one may sense the outcome from the fact that 'Red' Len has had his opponent suspended from the union according to Stephen Daisley at The Coffee House:
Gerard Coyne was suspended from his post as West Midlands regional secretary of Britain’s biggest union while an investigation takes place. It is not clear what Coyne is accused of, who his accusers are, or when he will get to see the evidence against him, assuming there is any.
Anyway, altogether now - UP THE WORKERS!
Additional: Guido reports that McCluskey has won. Who's surprised?
Nice to see the comrades up to their usual comradery.

Gerard Coyne's image is currently being airbrushed out of Unite photographs.
It just goes to show that the people most obsessed with seeking power are the last people that should be entrusted with it.

Airbrushed out? Sounds a bit Maoist.

It matters who counts the votes in the end.
