During this idle Holiday Monday I had planned to write something piercingly intelligent and memorable such as my solution to the 'Fat Boy Kim' problem, or perhaps an explanation of the consciousness enigma, or even the square root of -1.
But, bugger it, I forgot that today is the last day of Classic FM's Hall of Fame which has now reached the last 60-odd pieces of favourite classic music chosen by their listeners. Consequently there is nothing but drop-dead gorgeous music from now until 10.00pm and every time I try and write something I have to stop and have an orgasm, er, well, as near to an orgasm as I can mange these days - and I heard that! We've just had some splendid 'Pomp and Circumstance' from that most English of composers, Sir Edward Elgar. Obviously it meant that I had to stand to attention which ruins my typing!
