is it me or is she actually quite attractive?

It's you!

I suppose it is possible that she read this blog or something similar and realized the unreasoning hatred of anybody at all associated with the Labour party might best be returned in full measure. Given the vague allusions one often finds to what the American conservatives call Second Amendment solutions and the fact that Labour MP Jo Cox was assassinated by gun and knife by a man named Mair, I think any fear she might have is perfectly justified. It is said in Wikipedia that Mair believed the following: "He believed that liberals, leftists and the mainstream media were the cause of the world's problems,..."

I wonder where that nut-bar got those nutty ideas?

Oh and Bucko, you are right, she has a lovely smile.

Did you read that Wiki article correctly, DD? Surely it read "...worked with her Mental Health Support Worker...".

"It is said in Wikipedia"

Why as I not surprised?

I wonder how long it will take me to peruse the relevant right wing British blogs (relax, you're not the worst) and find threats to "Cox" this young woman? I suspect it would be depressingly easy. Good one Whyaxye! After all if Ms Pidcock reads the papers and has memory cells in her brain then she probably remembers what happened to Cox. And she must therefore be mentally ill right? Who needs mental health care workers anyway? Oh I know a guy! His name is Mair.

OK. 1541. Give us a few links to these "right wing" blogs.

Bucko, you should have gone to Specsavers!

Let's start with Duff and Nonsense. I said it wasn't the worst but it is pretty bad. Those fulminating screeds about the Labour party are absolutely indistinguishable from what Mair is said to have believed. If we are to trust your police. If not David might have been a little premature in praising May's government from removing pay caps. The cops might all be lefties!!! I wouldn't be too awfully hard on Wikipedia backofan, may I call you backofan? Both our host and many others who post here seem to think it is the final authority on damn near everything. See the above post by D Duff.

Right, that's it! I gave you a second chance, Peter, and whilst I could - just about - put up with your ungrammatical, tedious, blathering, ill-informed nonsense, I will not accept being likened to a murderer. You're out and don't come back!

To really slam your political rivals, I refer you to the use of language developed by our Republicans in the 1990's. With a little persistence, you too can throw shade (trash talk) like Newt Gingrich:

https://web.archive.org/web/20130902053532/http://web.utk.edu/~glenn/GopacMemo.html">http://web.utk.edu/~glenn/GopacMemo.html">https://web.archive.org/web/20130902053532/http://web.utk.edu/~glenn/GopacMemo.html

Sorry, broke the link somehow:

https://web.archive.org/web/20130902053532/http://web.utk.edu/~glenn/GopacMemo.html">http://web.utk.edu/~glenn/GopacMemo.html">https://web.archive.org/web/20130902053532/http://web.utk.edu/~glenn/GopacMemo.html

Still doesn't work, Bob, but not to worry, I'm not really that interested in Newt Gingrich!

Hmmmmm, I didn't break it, typepad does even though it works fine in preview mode. Here's the memo. Sorry to take up all the space, David:

Language: A Key Mechanism of Control

As you know, one of the key points in the GOPAC tapes is that "language matters." In the video "We are a Majority," Language is listed as a key mechanism of control used by a majority party, along with Agenda, Rules, Attitude and Learning. As the tapes have been used in training sessions across the country and mailed to candidates we have heard a plaintive plea: "I wish I could speak like Newt."

That takes years of practice. But, we believe that you could have a significant impact on your campaign and the way you communicate if we help a little. That is why we have created this list of words and phrases.

This list is prepared so that you might have a directory of words to use in writing literature and mail, in preparing speeches, and in producing electronic media. The words and phrases are powerful. Read them. Memorize as many as possible. And remember that like any tool, these words will not help if they are not used.

While the list could be the size of the latest "College Edition" dictionary, we have attempted to keep it small enough to be readily useful yet large enough to be broadly functional. The list is divided into two sections: Optimistic Positive Governing words and phrases to help describe your vision for the future of your community (your message) and Contrasting words to help you clearly define the policies and record of your opponent and the Democratic party.

Please let us know if you have any other suggestions or additions. We would also like to know how you use the list. Call us at GOPAC or write with your suggestions and comments. We may include them in the next tape mailing so that others can benefit from your knowledge and experience.

Optimistic Positive Governing Words

Use the list below to help define your campaign and your vision of public service. These words can help give extra power to your message. In addition, these words help develop the positive side of the contrast you should create with your opponent, giving your community something to vote for!

Bloody hell, Bob, that was truly boring-snoring! Can't think how dear old 'Winnie' managed to write all those speeches he made during the war without the help of, er, "OPGW"!

David, meh. Maybe the list doesn't mean as much to Brits, but in our politics we hear or read those words used as weapons on a daily basis. They seem to show up in most of the American sites you use as references, too, along with many that are far less subtle. Do you think 'Winnie' would have read 'The American Thinker'?

I thought Peter had reached peak stupid with his comments here. Glad to see the back of him.

"Words, words, words" as that gloomy Dane exclaimed. I suggest, Bob, that your (and our) politicians should first think their thoughts then find the right words to express them. Who needs Gingrich for that?

As much as anything, Mike, he was such a bore!

She is progressive alright! From mental health worker to mental health patient. She is on the proper side.

She is thirty, inexperienced and silly yet her constituency turned out and voted for her in their thousands. It's thousands of pillocks, not just one.

David, Mike, et al,

Just wait. The third time, he'll crank up the charm!

David, we agree no one needs Gingrich. Did you know he married an owl-woman?

Thanks, David. Since I am now on OAP, I need to economize where and when I can, and saving the pixels, which don't grow on trees, you know, wasted on Pompous, is a reminder that every little bit helps, said the old lady as she peed in the ocean, trying to drown her husband. He was the nastiest sort,(Pompous, I never knew the husband) and truly out of place in this gentle folk's forum.

Bob, loved the article about Owl Woman.

Well, Gentlemen, I don't mind 'Lefties' coming on here to give their political opinions but there was a perpetual sneer to his words which emanated from his totally false sense of superiority. I gave him a second chance but being truly 'stoopid', he blew it!

Bob, you are a very naughty boy!

"According to her Wiki entry, this class warrior originally worked as a "mental health support worker". From a colleague who lives in her constituency the 'support worker' element was that she was an administrator - a clerk - in the relevant department, but that she was also a staunch union activist, where many Labour politicans began. Perhaps she is an example of the trend of people being promoted several levels above their capability. This young woman has no experience of life, apart from the single issue, tunnel visioned, brain washing she has been subjected to and will happily vote in whichever direction the Labour elite tell her to. Mind you, in that part of the country, Dolly the cloned sheep would be elected if she wore a red rosaette.
My colleague also mentioned that that part of the country is receiving an influx of retired people from the south of England, especially London, who are fed up of the Islamisation of their areas and are using the difference in house prices to live in a nice area and have capital to subsidise their remaining years. Perhaps Ms Pidock will be a one term wonder.

Shoulda read here first!

Belay the keelhauling AD!

Glad you liked it, Andra. They usually do good work at Extra Newsfeed.

Belay the keelhauling AD!

Bugger. A good keelhauling would have been a good way to start the Forenoon Watch JK.

La la la!

That was the fat lady warming up...

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-majority-uk-british-people-stay-in-eu-not-leave-latest-poll-theresa-may-florence-speech-tory-a7960226.html

So what's the People's Republic of Britain gonna do now it's 52% Remain 48% Brexit?

Let me guess, "The last vote is the only one that counts (if it went our way)".

That's what they all said.

SoD

SoD, when you are reduced to quoting the 'not-very-Independent' and their opinion polls - does anyone believe in them anymore? - I feel your pain and frustration. Calm down, dear!
