That bank robbing bit has somehow made me better equipped to take on the coming week. Probably because this is one of the weeks where I pay my quarterly state and federal income taxes.

G'day Whitewall,

Seems in your neck of the woods "No taxation without representation" has morphed into "More taxation with poor representation".

Mind you you are not on your own in that predicament.

Give a person a gun, and he can rob a bank. Give a person a bank, and he can rob everyone.

We have just proved the truth of that statement down here in Oz. An ongoing Royal Commission into our banking industry has demonstrated that some of our biggest banks make the average hardened villain look virtuous to the edge of saintly.

Morning AussieD,
Yes it does seem that 'representative' democracy needs ever more nourishing. We have an ongoing investigation into one of our biggest banks-Wells Fargo. Over the last few years it seems people working for the bank created phantom customer accounts for brokerage charges and other devious things. Wells is still digging out...horses are showing but the coach is still half in the sand.

The "Manly Ferry" joke sounds vaguely like this:

I'd like to know the source of the story.
