Actually, I think it's an example of 'Old Sod's Law' at work. We have just enjoyed - er, we did enjoy it, didn't we? - week after week after week of non-stop, blazing hot sunshine and clear night skies. Then they told us that a very rare 'blood moon' would appear on Friday night, the like of which has not been seen since Henry VIII chopped the head off one of his wives, or, England won the World cup, I can't remember exactly which but an awfully long time ago! So last night we all waited with our breath well and truly bated - and guess what? - 'yuuuuuuge' great, dark clouds gathered overhead and we couldn't see a thing! Then, to rub it in, the Master of the Universe sent us a deluge of rain so we were all soaked as we moon-gazed. I'll swear I heard a deep, Godly chuckle!
