(Stop giggling!) Everyone and his uncle has a 'Mission Statement' these days so why shouldn't I? Normally, of course, companies employ a team of hugely expensive creative consultants to tell the Chief Executive Officer what his business is all about, he, poor chap, not having a clue. Alas, here at Duff & Nonsense we haven't got two brass farthings to our name and our credit ran out years ago so we are reduced to the final resort - theft! Perusing 'Deogolwulf's' always excellent site (I use the word 'perusing' because it is the sort of slightly dated, blow-the-cobwebs-off sort of a word that he would use) I came across the quote which now proudly adorns my header. As I explained in mitigation of my shameless larceny, the words sum up the spirit of this blog so exactly and elegantly that I succumbed to temptation.
Now I must go off to 'Google-land' and find out who the hell G.C. Lichtenberg is, or was!
OH MY GOD! YOU HAVE TO TAKE THAT QUOTE DOWN!
Apparently he was a 'Kraut' AND an 'academic' who worked at a 'University' as a 'Professor' no less - pampered by the 'Kraut' taxpayer, pontifiating from his 'ivory tower'. The horror!

Never let it be said that I am anything other than broadminded, tolerant and welcoming to all, irrespective of race, religion, politics, 'Old Spice' after-shave, wearing socks with sandals, failing to wear a tie with a suit - why, I even put up with you, 'NIB'!

You're welcome!

I think the quote can be appropriated by just about anyone, which is it's beauty.
I have been known to flash the odd 'perusal' around from time to time
Didn't think it was that unfashionable.

Socks and sandals are a very comfortable combination, wrongly scorned. Shame on you for indulging in this fashionable sockophobia.

And before you complain, I know that "phobia" really means "fear" rather then "hatred", but the new usage will soon be standard, not least because of the theology of the linguists who decry all attempts to defend accuracy as somehow unnatural. What I'd really like is some suffix that implies 'despising': perhaps our chum Jollywolf can suggest one?
