Arrived back yesterday evening, well and truly Hamleted-out! Still a bit knackered and with a list of things to do carefully nurtured in my absence by the little 'Memsahib'. I have a few inchoate thoughts swirling around the vacuum of my mind but they may have to wait until the end of the week. They include a diatribe against 'wimmin'' and an essay in favour of hypocrisy but in the meantime, as they gestate in the bile of my gut, please excuse this 'cop out' in the form of a link to an essay by Vicki Woods, a writer hitherto unknown to me, who is, judged on this example, an exceedingly shrewd observer de nos jours (oh, get stuffed, Orwell!) past, present and to come. I am obliged to Brian Appleyard for the link.
