My murder statistics (see post below) are, I suspect, somewhat understated. I base them on a daily perusal of the BBC News sites for the regions but this morning I saw two further murders reported in The Mail that the BBC had failed to report. I have added them to the totals but the details in the report are worth mentioning. One of yesterday's victims was a 14-year old boy set upon by a gang of 'children' of similar age and stabbed to death. Also, yesterday, a man of 18 was fatally stabbed in Ilford. Apparently in London alone, seven innocent people have been slaughtered by the use of knives in the last 6 months. Finally, in another incident yesterday, a 14-year old lad was wounded in a knife attack whilst trying to stop an altercation at a bus stop - two 12-year old boys are being questioned! Yes, you read that right, "two 12-year olds".
I doubt that 'oor wee Gordie Broon' is sitting in No. 10 twiddling his thumbs and wondering what to do next, but perhaps the safety of his fellow subjects going about their business on the Queen's highway should be high up on the list.
