A 28-year old man has just stood trial at Preston Crown Court for stabbing his half-brother to death near his home. He was charged with murder.
Yes, you've guessed it, well you would have done if you had read my previous Cocklecarrot cases; he pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter, a device condoned by the Crown non-Prosecution dis-Service who can thereby tick another box to keep their 'lying liar' political chief happy, and also condoned by Mr. Justice Silber who described the action of the accused as "appalling" (not big with words, is our Mr. Justice Silber) and handed down the derisory sentence of 5 years and 3 months - that'll teach him! He'll be out in 3 years, only 31 and the rest of his life in front of him.
As for ... oh, what's his name ... you know ... the other one ... his brother ... well, shit happens, dunnit? Yes it does, and much of it happens in our Courts of Law.
Lest 'Ratty' comes over all tearful and whining that they do their best, I had better tell you that some Jock MacCocklecarrots have at least, and at last, taken a step in the right direction. Today in the Court of Appeal they increased an 8 year sentence to 10 years on a young scrote who killed another man with a knife and who, having been found guilty of culpable homicide, was chancing his luck by claiming the sentence was too severe! Of course, it should have been 28 years in the first place but that will never happen as long as the loonies run the asylum.
