Some people might suggest, unkindly, that that is the editorial policy of this blog! I shall ignore such jibes and simply reprint a picture from Anthony Watts's site that came via http://www.ijis.iarc.uaf.edu/en/index.htm, a Japanese-based international site for reporting on arctic conditions. Incidentally, Anthony Watts recommends this particular site because it confines itself to reporting the facts, as recorded, without recourse to 'interpretation'. If you are a really silly person, that is, even sillier than than the twerp who tried to paddle his canoe to the north pole and had to be rescued from the ice, and you remain worried about melting ice in the arctic, then relax, because apparently there is 28.7% more of the wretched stuff today than there was this time last year! However, that was not the reason for me publishing this map which shows the globe from above the north pole, and I was fascinated by this - to me - highly original view of the world. Apart from anything else, the United Kingdom is upside down - Her Majesty will not be amused!
