Now this, courtesy of those old lags over at IHTM, is a really vicious assault on 'The One':
If we could see a Reduced Shakespeare summary of Obama’s presidency so far, it would read:
Dither, dither, speech. Foreign trip, bow, reassure. Seminar, summit. Shoot a jump shot with the guys, throw out the first pitch in mom jeans. Compromise, concede, close the deal. Dither, dither, water down, news conference.
Oh no, I hear you groan, he's not quoting that Glenn Beck again, surely. Well, surely not because those are the words of the doyenne of liberal Obama lick-spittlers, 'Dowager' Maureen Dowd, of the impeccably Democrat-supporting New York Times, no less!
Is it any wonder that in the latest Rasmussen poll Obama's approval rating, that is, the difference between those who strongly approve and those who strongly disapprove has sunk t0 -15, and last week for the first time in his presidency he fell below the magic 50% marker in a Gallup poll. As a rough guide I seem to remember reading some expert who said that Obama's ratings needed to sink to the low 40s to ensure a Republican resurgence in the Senate likely to give them control. There's a year to go!
He asked Americans over and over if they could change and they answered with an almighty, "YES WE CAN", and that's exactly what they have done, changed their minds!
And this from Arianna Huffington, another liberal who supported Obama: "Just as Katrina exposed critical weaknesses in the priorities and competence of the Bush administration, the unfolding unemployment disaster is threatening to do the same for the Obama White House."
I still think Dowd and Huff are bad writers, but stopped clocks and all that.

Yes and in passing it's worth pointing out that the main thing Katrina showed up was the corruption and lack of foresight by the Democrat leadership of New Orleans!
