I am obliged to 'm'Lord Bishop' Hill for pointing me in this direction, a new site to me and one worth watching, particularly if you are into technology stuff. The writer, Andrew Orlowski, retails with relish the slap administered by the Advertising Standards Agency to The Times, no less, for its ignorant and misleading advertising in which it claimed that because of global warming the North East Passage along the top of Russia was open for the first time. In fact it opened in 1934 and only the Soviet regime kept it closed for a time but it re-opened after the Soviet collapse. Recent advances in radar have now made it even more accessible. However, the global climate change which appears to be beginning, that is, cooling, might bring this sea route to a halt as 'the iceman cometh'! In addition, The Times has been forced to promise that it will not repeat another ad in which it claimed that the oceans would be fish-free by 2048, another spurious claim. Get a grip, Rupert!
