What an almighty fuss and furore over nothing! Some latter-day loudmouth with a self-donated dog-collar and a congregation of around 35 - so long as the sun is shining - threatens to burn some copies of the Quoran (if that's how you spell it) and all the not-so-great-and-definitely-not-too-good nearly wet themselves in fear and trepidation and trip over each other in their eagerness to reach a microphone to tell the world how much they disapprove and it's nothing to do with them, honest it's not! For God's sake - and I don't care which particular God - have Obama and his polit-bureau no sense of pride and decorum? Are they so shit-scared of Islam that they are prepared to tremble in public lest the 'Arab street' erupts. Allow me to remind them that the 'Arab street' regularly erupts, usually after a few bob have been distributed to ensure a good turn out, and that will be their excuse to burn the Stars and Stripes, a precious and hallowed icon for all Americans, assuming of course that they can actually find one given that they have burned so many so often before.
Look, I hate book-burners, not just 'Pastor Prat' and his daft acolytes, but all of them from the Inquisition and Cromwell onwards. I also loathe book-banners which covers virtually all Muslim countries and their hideous governments today. If some loon and his 35 fairies want to look ridiculous and/or despicable it is only necessary for a government spokesman to state 'the bleedin' obvious' that it is nothing to do with the United States government which is proud to defend the right of people to express an opinion however daft or obnoxious it might be. It's the American way - right? And if indeed the Arabs cut up rough, well, if it wasn't for that it would have been something else.
The main thing is for the current President of the United States, and his wannabe-in-'12 successor, to maintain their dignity - to say nothing of their pride - by remaining silent.
Obama never misses an opportunity, to miss an opportunity, that is...

Deadly accurate, Julia, as always.
