. . . they seek that tartan, one-eyed Jock everywhere! What a disgrace he is, not just a financial and political failure but a miserable coward as well who, to a quote a lady with bigger balls than he has, is too "frit" to go to the Commons and face the music. They should drag him to the bar of the House and force him to explain himself - and then force him to empty his pockets and wallet!
For a change I was right when I warned that 'Postman Pat' Johnson should not be underestimated. He has an easy manner and speaks a language non-financial economists, that is, ordinary voters like me, understand - or at least, think we understand. Osborne, like any Chancellor was bound to have his eloquence weighed down by the necessary but boring statistics he had to produce although it must be said that he never made much of an effort to reach the higher levels of political oratory. His speech was all somewhat like the Commissar for Tractor Production in Soviet Russia bringing the good but barely believable news that production had increased 200%! No doubt later today the experts will explain it all to us but the key indicators will come via the foreign exchange markets and the bond dealers.
