When I was a boy my father told me a yarn about a counterfeiter of the Portugese currency who was reckoned to have given quite a beneficial Keynesian stimulus to Portugal at the time of The Slump.

"a beneficial Keynesian stimulus".

I think that translates in Portugese to something like ' a helpful shove'!
