Sorry, sorry, yet more plagiarism from other and better sites but, hell, who ever expects original thinking here at D&N?! Today I have been chortling at those disrespectful reprobates over at I Hate The Media. They offer two views of Barack Hussein Obama. The first is, I should warn you, rather greasy and oily so have a sick-bag handy:
In his biography of Obama, “The Bridge,” David Remnick, editor of The New Yorker, quotes White House senior adviser and longtime Obama friend Valerie Jarrett: “I think Barack knew that he had God-given talents that were extraordinary. He knows exactly how smart he is. … He knows how perceptive he is. He knows what a good reader of people he is. And he knows that he has the ability — the extraordinary, uncanny ability — to take a thousand different perspectives, digest them and make sense out of them, and I think that he has never really been challenged intellectually. … So what I sensed in him was not just a restless spirit but somebody with such extraordinary talents that had to be really taxed in order for him to be happy. … He’s been bored to death his whole life. He’s just too talented to do what ordinary people do.”
Golly-gosh, judging by the election results, 'the cousins', in all their sublime ignorance, have failed to realise that they have a God-endowed Superman in charge of their affairs! I mean, how ungrateful and blind can they be in failing to see that God has granted them a leader who "bestrides the earth like a colossus". Incidentally, for those not up in the esoteric details of American politics, Ms. Jarret has spent a life-time oiling up to the Obamas whilst simultaneously making a hefty personal fortune from running tenement blocks in Chicago - where else? - and now sits in an office next to the Oval Office as the President's Personal & Private Assistant & Boot-licker!
For an alternative view of 'The One', those IHTM rascals turned next to Sean Hannity of Fox News - need I say more? He has this to report from Democrat(!) sources inside the administration whom he insists are relaible:
“There are some Democrats that cue me into things. The feeling among some people in the White House is that this president is unhinged, that he’s detacted, that he’s losing it, he’s obsessed with critics, very specifically obsessed with Fox news, he can’t stand Biden, he hates the Clintons, the Clintons hate him. Infighting apparently, and finger pointing is at an all-time high, if the President is brought bad news on the economy he has a meltdown everytime he hears it. And this is what people-and I’m telling you-my sources are reliable are telling me.”
Prior to Obama's election this blog (along with a majority of Americans) gave him the benefit of the doubt. I seem to remember saying that he gave every appearance of being an intelligent man and whilst he might have to dance to a Left-wing tune during the campaign there was a hope that he would emerge as his own man once he was inside the White House. However, as I also said, of him and others, you will never really be certain until the man (or woman) is in the job. It is in the fire of ultimate power that a candidate is either hardened to steel or crumbles to ash. It has been obvious for some considerable time that Obama is simply out of his depth. The very first, most basic matter upon which you must decide as POTUS is who are your friends and allies, and who are your enemies? On his first day in office he took what must have been one of his earliest decisions, he ordered that the bust of Winston Churchill, a gift from Britain to America, be sent back. That tells you all you need to know about what he thinks of us! He then set off on a global tour or two in which he bowed and lick-spittled his way around every tinpot thug and gangster he could find in the conviction that all he needed to do was make 'nicely-nicely' with them and the problems, created by that brutish and stupid Mr. Bush, would evaporate. Superior types are much given to sneering at Mrs. Palin's lack of a university education and the supposed want of intellectual ability on her part as a result. My guess is that if she ever walks into the Oval Office she will know immediately who her friends are in the world and who are the enemies at the gate - and she will not need a briefing from the State Department to tell her.
The American people have been twice bamboozled by their media. The first was the sustained campaign of vilification mounted against George Bush. The sickening irony is that this was aimed at the areas in which, by and large, he did right, and ignored the disaster he created in government finances - mainly because the Left-wing media agreed with it! The second con-trick was the beatification of Obama. Alas, today this political saint is seen for the shoddy second-rater that he is. One small crumb of comfort can be saved from the last two years and that is the intense distrust Americans now have for much of their media. They will not be easily fooled again and in the meantime those once great organs of honest reporting and commentary who have not turned into the agit-prop department of the Democrat party will pick up speed as they slide into bankruptcy. Newsweek sold for a single dollar a few weeks ago. How long before the WaPo and the NYT follow suit? Can't happen fast enough for me.
