Aw no, David. It's not "sent abroad to lie for their country"; the original is a subtle pun not a crude insult. "Sent to lie abroad for their country": see?

Tsk! You're a proper edifikation, you are, DM, I really don't know wot I'd do wivout yer!

And anyway, as you should know after all these years, I don't do 'subtle'!
