A writer for The American Spectator masquerading under the name of 'Green Lantern' (no, me neither!) has written an excellent piece praising two thirds of Herman Cain's 9-9-9 tax plan but demolishing the last element, a national sales tax of 9%. I wasn't sure exactly what he had in mind as I made clear in my last post on the subject. This analysis makes it quite clear that it is a bad idea. However, 'Green Lantern' offers a useful and shrewd alternative. It's well worth reading if, like me, you are struggling to keep up on the qualities, or otherwise, of the Republican party nominees and their fitness for office. Go read:
