Yes, indeed, desperately sad news from The Telegraph that at the very ripe old age of 80, one of the greatest stars Hollywood ever produced has taken his final bow. So many magnificent performances, truly the greatest comic actor of his era and "we shall not look upon his like again"! Compared to today's so-called 'stars' his brilliant acting, comic timing and his moving and affectionate wisdom puts them all to shame.
And so we bid farewell to - Cheeta the Chimp, star of the great Tarzan films!
(Sorry, what was that? Johny who? and Maureen O'Sullivan? Never heard of 'em!)
Blimey, who'd have thought that Chimps lived that long?! I bet the news goes down really well in African countries where human life expectancy is about half that.
I loved the following line from his obituary:
"Mrs Cobb said Cheeta wasn't a troublemaker, but was known to throw his own waste around if he became upset."
I'm sure we all know how the old bugger felt.

You'd enjoy Cheeta's autobiography, which was released in February of this year.
It is called "Me Cheeta".
He was a very randy critter and bedded more beauties than Flynn, or that's what he alleges.
It's my understanding that nobody sued him so it must be true.
