As some of you know, I pay the occasional visit to the HAFs over at Deltoid, a place where even if you suggest mildly that it's been a bit chilly recently they fall on you like a pack of dogs - old dogs and puppies, mind, pretty toothless and totally harmless. However, every once in a while one or two of them stand out from the pack by the style of their writing or the wit of their vitriol. This, from a commenter called 'Mercurious' @ #335 I thought was so good I decided to share it with you:
There once was an old troll named Duff,
Who posted a whole lot of guff,
From each stinkin' word
Grew a great pile of merde
That no-one but no-one could flush.
See, they love me really, in fact, I'm the love that dare not speak its name over at Deltoid!

I haven't been there for ages, but I have to admit it looks like fun. I think your resolutely good-humoured approach works very well indeed - they don't seem to know how to handle it do they? Bile and abuse never mix well.
I see you have a useful ally (Andy) too - are the doubts seeping in do you think? Poor daft sods!

A French word! Scientific rigour and literary panache in the same well-crafted limerick. You must sometimes feel you are outgunned by these intellectuals.

Keep away, AK, they haven't improved with age!
I know, 'W', but even so, fair's fair, that limerick gave me a chuckle.
