I can claim some considerable expertise on the subject of Croatia because I once spent a week there! Well, it's better than nothing! Actually it was in the ancient and charming sea town of Poreč which is at the northern end of the Croation seashore in the district of Istria. Not the least of its attractions is that you can hop on a fast boat across the sea for a day visit to Venice - and the best way to see Venice is the approach by sea. Anyway, enough of this tourism puff for which I will not receive a single Kuna.
In fact, I will definitelynot receive any Kunas fairly shortly because the Croatians have just been tricked into the USE. I am grateful to England Expects for offering a piece by Marjan Bošnjak of the Only CroatiaParty who explains how his country has been sandbagged, tricked, swindled, cheated and lied to in the campaign mounted jointly by most of their own corrupted politicians, plus the crooks, rogues and vagabonds in Brussels-Berlin - my emphasis throughout these quotes:
The Government spent huge amounts of public funds to pay for a massive YES campaign, whilst denying any funding to the NO case. In addition, the European Commision ran its own very expensive YES campaign. State enterprises and corporations were also enlisted. State Television aired pro-EU adverts for free or at discounted rates, Croatia Post home delivered more than 2 million government leaflets for free, and the City of Zagreb provided free EU advertising on its trams. [...]
The 'Vecernji List' daily reported on 10.8.2011 that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and EU Integrations had in the two preceeding months (June and July 2011) paid the broadcasting of more than 13 thousand radio adverts and more than 2300 TV adverts on 80 radio stations, 6 national and 15 local TV stations. This massive propaganda campaign continued and even increased in scope and intensity over the next six months leading up to the referendum.
And so on and on and on . . . and yet, the result was that only 43% of the electorate actually voted! And of those who did vote whilst 66% were in favour 33% were against. The government actually had to rescind part of the Croatian constitution which made any referendum failing to reach 50% approval null and void.
For me this sums up the entire 'European Project' for the rotten, stinking mess of corruption that it is and the quicker we get out the better.
"Only Croatia Party".
There's something really satisfying about that title.
What chance an "Only Britain Party"? (Or, if it's too late, "Only England")?
