When it comes to fighting I am definitely on the side of the spectator. I still remember my one and only venture in a boxing-ring when my opponent kept punching me in the face and making my eyes water and thus through which I could then see nothing. I back-pedaled, blinking furiously to clear my vision when - SMACK - another punch landed and once again blindness followed. This went on for what seemed a lifetime. I retired from the ring after that experience! There-after I joined the spectator-tendency where at least you see the action and, best of all, feel none of the pain.
I was reminded of this after reading an article in Der Spiegel describing a growing argument between Germany and her neighbours - I know, I know, hard to believe but there it is! You may remember that the 'Kaiserin' took fright after the Fukushima nuclear plant went, er, nuclear having been hit by an earthquake and a tsunami, neither of which are likely to occur in Germany, and which killed exactly - two people! In her panic - well, actually, I think an election was hovering and if she could nick a few Green votes it would help still her beating heart! - she ordered the closure of all nuclear power stations inside Germany.
Needless to say, her neighbours saw an opportunity and both Poland and the Netherlands have announced that they intend to build and operate new nuclear power plants, some of them quite close to the German border. According to Spiegel, there is absolutely nothing that Germany can do about it - yet! And anyway, her decision to switch off her 'nukes' has already resulted in Germany facing power shortages which were only solved by buying electricity from France and others and most of which was produced by nuclear means. If 'Dim Dave' is really intent on Britain expanding the number of its nuclear power plants then he had better get on with it because by the time they are up and running the Germans will have twisted enough arms in Brussels to ensure that they will all be banned under European edict just about when he opens the first one!
3 cracking posts today, sir.
Kind regards

Did the nuke at F kill two? my memory was that one (at least?) was killed by the tsunami rather than anything to do with the nuke.
