Remember the Foxconn/Apple factory SHLOCK-HORROR! story of yesterday, or was it the day before, or perhaps a week ago - well, a week is a long time in the news cycle as well as politics? Anyway, it was all about some Chinese factory crammed to its bursting seams with poor, il-nourished, sick, under-aged, old-aged, single black one parent lesbian cripples oh, no, not them, but the rest and there were simply zillions of them, and were all being treated despicably by their employers as they sweated for pennies, 15 hours a day with only 30-second toilet breaks once a day as they assembled I-Pods or Pads or whatever and other techie thingies for those ghastly Yankee capitalists.
Good story, well, good if you like SHLOCK-HORROR! headlines but not so good if it all turns out to be total BLX. The main sucker news organisation who reported the story have now been forced to recant the whole thing. The original fantasy came from some Leftie actor/polemicist called Mike Daisey who had used it as part of his performance.
