Today the sun is shining and in its glare there is no escaping the fact that my garden has 'gone over'. Old 'friends' who displayed their beauty for me during the so-called Summer have now lost their lustre and must - oh, cruel, cruel world - be culled. All of which is a long-winded way of saying that I must, absolutely must, get out there and do some tidying up. Not least, of course, because the chance of more sunny days is nil verging on none! Consequently I may not get around to posting anything until much later in the day, so if you are a wage-slave there is no excuse for you to keep on clicking here, instead you should jolly well get on with your work - for a change!
Further to my previous post, I am very excited at having discovered Orwell and thanks to the generous suggestions of many of my commenters I now have even more reading to cope with! The other day the 'Memsahib' asked if we had been introduced when I made a surprise visit downstairs. I had to remind her that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit!
See you all later.
Why doesn't the memsahib do the gardening?

Damn good question. Wish I had the guts to ask it!
