It's the Euro wot done it.

Welcome back Duffers. My lot left France [Brittany actually] in the 1500's so it is not a new phenomena Duffers. The place was stuffed back then.

Having lived, worked and holidayed in France I can assure you it is no use trying to do anything there especially if you are not French and even then it is not good.

The healthcare they practice is one thing that I found exceptionally good many times better than our own NHS.There are other things that they do better than the UK but they are few. Having returned to the UK to live after an absence of 11 years I can say that I am happier for it.

As Ayn Rand said: “When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion; when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing; when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favours; when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you; when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice, then you may know that your society is doomed.”

Sounds as if France ticks most of those boxes...
