Every time I go to Italy (and I go there a lot), I find I cannot reconcile all this doom and gloom with all the happy prosperous people I see around me there.

Then I remember that every Italian business keeps three sets of books - one for the managers, one for the investors, and one for the taxman - and I realise that, as usual, things ain't wot they seem to be.

Italy will do fine.

The EU, perhaps (and hopefully) less so.

Forza Italia!

Yes, Andrew, it's the same 'system' they used in Greece and look where that got them! My point is that if Greece is a pimple, Italy is a huge and festering boil!
