Yeah, yeah. But what about yesterday's solar eclipse, which was originally scheduled to be a lunar eclipse? Only global warming can logically explain such an unforeseen reversal!

[Disclaimer: If you do not understand that I am joking, you are a moron.]

‭The ‬National Climate Assessment is only part of the story:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/energy-environment/wp/2017/06/20/trump-administration-to-decline-to-renew-dozens-of-scientists-for-key-epa-advisory-board/?utm_term=.def83c53dff2

Trump also disbanded the Manufacturing Council and the Strategic and Policy Forum:

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/08/16/trump-abruptly-ends-manufacturing-council-after-ceos-disband-strategy-and-policy-forum.html

And an infrastructure advisory council:

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/08/17/trump-scraps-plan-for-infrastructure-council-after-2-other-panels-dissolve.html

And The President's Committee on Arts and Humanities has quit:

http://www.businessinsider.com/trumps-arts-commission-resigns-charlottesville-resist-2017-8

The scientists were sacked because of ideology, but the rest were fired after they quit to distance themselves from Trump's remarks about Charlottesville. Also gone are top advisers Michael Flynn, Sean Spicer, Reince Priebus, Anthony Scaramucci, KT McFarland, Rich Higgins and Steve Bannon. There are many stories of posts not being filled because no willing applicants can be found. It's getting lonely to be The Donald.

"It's getting lonely to be The Donald."

I bet he's glad . . .

I don't know, seems Democrats haven't been this po'd since Republicans made them give up their slaves 155 years ago.

Oh goody! Next up, making pi legally equal to three. Just cause those nerds think it should be irrational is no reason you should have to suffer. Right? But wait! This only applies to the US. Who is going to save Britain from science? The Rhesus-Monkey to the rescue? Do you even have a politician that stupid. Maybe you should consider bringing your lack of experience to bear and run for office. You could be the British Trump!

Any thoughts yet on all those climate science isotope studies there Henry? Or did they make you empty your brain when you retired from being the only physicist in the world who doesn't know what those are?

The light just came on. The Profa white supremacist wing of the Republican Party wants to save the treason statues because of their deep and abiding love of Democrats! Thanks whitewall I never would have guessed.

The so-called "top advisors" have been pawns in this theater of the absurd, orchestrated by President Trump from the get go. The guy is merely yanking the chains of the stupid progs, so as to clear a path for his Cabinet to do the real work of the Executive Branch of the Federal Government.

Sean Spicer is an American political aide who served as White House Press Secretary. Besides the stupid progs, who gives a shit what his role as "political aide" was? It's all part of an end-around misdirection.

Of course. Trump isn't an ignorant narcissist. He's a great genius with a master plan. And only stupid progs don't like him. Except for (and the list isn't anywhere near comprehensive):

Republican senators Lindsey Graham, John McCain, Marco Rubio, Jeff Flake, Cory Gardner, Mitch McConnell and Bob Corker; Gov. John Kasich and Former Govs. Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney; Representatives Ed Royce, Leonard Lance, Will Hurd, Paul Ryan and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen; former Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush; Republican strategists Karl Rove (for gods' sakes), Rory Cooper, Rich Galen, Steve Smith and Michael Steele; conservative pundits Bill Kristol, Charlie Sykes, Rick Tyler, George Will, Mark Levin, Max Boot, Niall Ferguson, Frances Townsend, Glenn Beck, Erick Erickson, Robert Kagan, Philip Klein, Rick Wilson, Liz Mair, Jay Caruso, Ben Howe, Neil Stevens, everyone at the National Review and David's favorite Charles Krauthammer.

All have denounced Trump either directly or indirectly.

On the plus side David Duke still loves him.

This place is awesome. I don't know of any other place on the internet where the denizens troll themselves. It's like finding the cubby hole where the janitors hang out and finding they all think they are Will Hunting.

Bob,

I did not have you in mind when I referred to "stupid progs". For one thing, I understood you to be a Libertarian, not a prog. And I certainly don't consider you to be stupid.

As for the group of individuals that you selectively appended, to those who oppose our sitting President, the one who was elected by a substantial majority of electoral votes (and defeated the execrable HRC), those individuals are merely a miscellaneous bunch of sore losers who can not abide the idea that all their prognostications were wrong. But seriously, who really gives a shit what they think?

David,

You have the honor of hosting the only gathering place in the English-speaking blogosphere with an indentured French troll on hand for comic relief. I commend you for a brilliant innovation.

You're right Henry. The only opinions that matter will be those of Trump's jurors. Poor Henry. It is sad to watch someone have all their illusions shattered. The absolute best you can hope for now is a puppet. Who reports to his McMaster. This is an object lesson of what happens when you invest too much in a hero who turns out to have a brain of clay.

Hey Bob did you see that Breitbart got pranked and revealed their entire strategy to the wrong Bannon. They are going after Trump's daughter and son in law. Trump won't mind a bit right? And Globalists of course, whatever that is supposed to mean.

TBH,

I didn't take it personally, but thank you for explaining. Really, though, where do you get the idea a large percentage of Republicans and conservatives don't loath Trump? The list above was put together in less than 5 minutes of searching my memory and the web. What's you evidence for Trump's plan?

I have political views but don't consider them important and don't hold anything against people who don't share them unless they're seriously violent or abusive. Labels have always been confusing. Every political group wants to define the others.

Peter, it seems Bannon represents an older form of conservatism that's isolationist and that distrusts the international financial elite (globalists). It's going to be interesting to see how large a crowd he can draw.

Bob th point is that that list you drew up consists of members of congress, the political establishment, the joirnalistic establishment and so on - all the great Washington circle-jerkers who have been shafting working Americans for decades.

Trumps election was a result of working people realising collectively that the great parties will never be on their side and voting accordingly. I'm surprised you won't admit that.

"I did not have you in mind when I referred to "stupid progs". For one thing, I understood you to be a Libertarian, not a prog."

Not too sure about that, BigHen. Bob rated himself midway on the vertical axis of Nolan once upon a time.

SoD

Bob,

  • "..., where do you get the idea a large percentage of Republicans and conservatives don't loathe Trump?"

Where do you get the idea that this is an idea that I hold? And even if that were so (bearing in mind that "large" is a fuzzy relative term"), so what? I am well aware there are a lot of people who hate Mr. Trump. So what? There are a lot of people who hate those people. There is lots of hatred in our country these days. Is it your contention that all of this hatred has been generated because about 50 million people who voted for HRC are fit to be tied? That is something I would agree with you about.

  • "..., and don't hold anything against people who don't share them unless they're seriously violent or abusive."

Neither do I. I don't hold anything against you personally because you disagree with me about political matters. But that doesn't mean I have to support your points of view. It's a free country, Bob. I am at liberty to think about and express my opinions about groups of people who in my opinion are acting like stupid fcks, as long as I don't invade your private space to say it. I repeat -- this is still a free country.

  • "The list above was put together in less than 5 minutes of searching my memory and the web."

And what exactly is your point? Are you implying that if you spent an hour doing it you would end up with a list twelve times as big? To which I repeat -- so what?

  • "What's your evidence for Trump's plan?"

I don't need any evidence. I also don't need no stinking badges. Opinions don't require any stinking supporting evidence. Because opinions.

Everything discussed here is basically expressions of people's own cherished opinions. You can agree with them or not. It's a fcking free country, last time I checked.

My purpose here is not to convince you or anyone else here that I am in possession of some special information conveyed to me by some infallible authority like the Pope (on matters of the Catholic Church). As a matter of fact, I don't have a purpose here. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother. I think it's because I genuinely enjoy the company of most of the other commenters here (including you, Bob).

"I think it's because I genuinely enjoy the company of most of the other commenters here (including you, Bob)."

Obviously, Henry, you are a man of excellent taste and discernment!

Also, when not posting, I enjoy the comments of other posters.

Cuffers
Exactly right! You seem to be among the few who remembered. Ad the mainstream news media and you have the full package. Trump ran against ALL of them.

Whitewall;

There are a few who remember, just not as vocal as should be, of course including myself.

I voted for Mr. Trump with my eyes wide open to his faults, strengths and weaknesses, as well as what he could or could not successfully accomplish in office.

What I didn't expect was the irrational response to his election from those who somehow came to the conclusion he stole the election...and have been trying to prove it ever since.

When (if ever) in history has any American President-elect faced every allegation of false election such as voter fraud, intentional miscounts, hacking; "professional" claims he is unfit either mentally or physically; demands the Electoral college be disbanded retroactively to allow win by popular vote; efforts to convince Electors to be unfaithful; attempts to get the Congress to negate the election and chose a President, and even calls for impeachment before he was even sworn into office?

Then, to find after election he has to deal with a myriad of treacherous officials openly or secretly rebellious, and opposition efforts to prove despite absolutely no real evidence, that he colluded with a foreign power to steal the office.

Uppers
I voted the same way after all my previous favorites fell by the wayside. Something was happening across middle America and most of us were caught off guard. America may not be a banana republic style country yet, but the shocked Democrat party has become half the formula for one. When HRC announced she was joining the "resistance"...meaning insurrection, that is much more in common with Latin America than North America. The Democrats have even embraced their own military wing- Antifa. Their former military wing from the old days-the KKK-is too far out of the real world to matter. When Democrats had to free their slaves they replaced the lost power with a military style wing-KKK. Today, the HRC loss was so shocking they are returning to the same civilian military wing pattern and justifying it because they lost. The MSM is adding fuel to the fire. The Democrat party was out of the closet the day Trump won.

TBH et al.,

My main point is that you can't have it both ways. Around 30% of Conservative and Republican voters don't approve of Trump and their respective establishments are becoming increasingly alarmed. It's true the Democrats and leftists aren't happy about Trump, but no sane person would expect them to be. Republicans and the right didn't like Obama either.

Equating the Antifa movement and White Supremacists is just factually wrong. It is not organized the same way, has opposing goals, and has roots going back to the resistance movements against Hitler, Mussolini and Franco.

-

SoD,

My respect for government authority is confined to when it can be used by the general population to fight powers that would deny liberty and dignity. You wrote something like that yourself the other day. Maybe you're not as anti-authority as you think.

Bob
"Equating the Antifa movement and White Supremacists is just factually wrong. It is not organized the same way, has opposing goals, and has roots going back to the resistance movements against Hitler, Mussolini and Franco."

For now there is some truth there. It won't last. Watch and see how this fascist "antifascist" movement morphs into other than what was billed. These movements always do. Mark my words. Each style of fascism will eventually get around to the grievances of the other. Better to end both while there is still time.

Whitewall, I have made note of your powers of precognition.

Ah I think I see your problem Bob. Globalists are corporate elites? So it's not the people in those countries who want jobs. It's the corporate elite who are forcing them to compete with America. And their elected governments have nothing at all to say about this? They don't want to represent the interests of their people? Well the solution is obvious. The biggest corporations seem to be American. Kill yours first.

Yes, this. When I see remarks like "It's always acceptable to punch a Nazi" with no comprehension of who the Nazi's are anymore (that's everyone who doesn't condemn enough the /Alt Right/Neo Nazis/Anti SJW's etc.) then we are going to get people patrolling the streets, dressed in black or wearing Nazi symbols, beating up whoever they want. People may be taking this to heights of absurdity, but it's because we see everyone else lying back agreeing that hitting people with bicycle locks and punching people for opposing views is OK so long as you belong to the 'right' side.
