I refer to that 'ginger ninja', that bellowing bully boy, that honker 'n' hooter, Donald Trump, aka, incredibly, as the President of the United States. I have, by and large, refrained from commenting on his presidency thus far because I have no idea where he's coming from, let alone where he wants to go! I simply tighten my seat belt and close my eyes.
Even so, some things stand out with clarity and deserve a roar of approval, such as his recent decision to dump the corrupt, useless and virulently anti-Semitic UNESCO organisation. Stephen Daisley spells out the reasons in an excellent article at The Coffee House. Personally, I wish 'The Donald' had carried out his threat to walk out of the entire UN farrago altogether. All it does, as far as I can tell, is to provide a veneer of respectability to sundry crooks, robbers, mass murderers, fanatics and anyone who wishes ill on us in the west - and we pay for it. Well, as the late, great W. C. Fields once said, "Never give a sucker an even break!"
ADDITIONAL: No sooner had I written the above when I read an article by the combined editors of the National Review(NR) whose collective views I take seriously because they really are independent thinkers and know where-of they speak. I never could understand Obama's policy towards Iran, especially the 'deal' that allegedly tied the nuclear hands of that lunatic government. The mere fact that Obama and his media chorus praised it so highly was enough to raise my doubts. Equally, Trump's decision to dump it down the toilet has produced squeals of concern from the usual suspects.
In effect, the NR view is that it was a long-overdue action but much will depend on how it is executed:
Trump’s speech, appropriately, addressed much more than the nuclear deal. In frank terms, he made the case against the terroristic theocracy in Tehran and described its threat to the U.S. and the region. He sketched in outline a strategy to pressure the regime on all fronts, especially focusing on the nefarious role of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard. All of this was to the good, although much will depend on execution; the administration doesn’t yet have a strategy to check Iran’s growing clout in Syria, and we must remember that the regime has the ability to hit back against us, both in Syria and in Iraq.
Go to it, Mr. President, but watch those foreign policy wonks like a hawk!
The treachery and betrayal of Obama's Iran deal might be the worst part of his shameful anti American legacy. All the "goodies" for Iran were front loaded. None of this will end well and Obama's Sympathies were highlighted here...pro Iran, pro Islam and anti Israel. America owes Iran a major pay back since 1979.

Trump's "America first" and foreigner-bashing rhetoric appeals to the isolationist impulse on the right. Nothing new there.
