Dolce et Decorum Est

I, too, saw that painting at the Imperial War Museum some years ago and was stunned by it. I believe the painting, on loan from the Imperial War Museum, is making or has made the rounds at some museums here in the States, including the WWI Museum in Kansas. Well worth seeing.

An excellent post, JK, thanks.

'Dippers', I defy anyone to see that painting and fail to be moved. Also, to see it 'live' is to be able to appreciate the tremendous skill and talent in the composition. A truly great work of art.

Hope you will find time to watch the Peter Jackson film 'They shall not grow old'
No spoilers, but I found it compelling, haunting, brutal, amusing, pathetic, & totally, totally mesmerising. What a fantastic tribute to his grandfather.

Shame the comments on your Sunday Post were clogged up with many ill informed remarks from SoD, but I do understand - you can choose your friends, but not your family.

Kind regards

Aye Mr Morris, aye
