China's growth is projected to drop to only about 6%! There are a lot of 'leaders' in the West that would kill for 6%.

An old Chinese proverb for you to consider, Mandarin Bob, 'All that glisten is not gold' and if Chairman Xi say that +3% and -3% equals 6% growth then you better say OK quick!

You don't mean the Chinese government would be less than completely honest do you David? I'm shocked. Shocked!:

Dear Bob, you say

You don't mean the Chinese government would be less than completely honest do you David? I'm shocked. Shocked!:

Unfortunately, I don't believe either you or the Chinese government are really shocked.

backofanenvelope,

That's perceptive, and please excuse my trolling. First, the number given is a projection and obviously not something based on an actual knowledge of the future. Second, all governments are prone to fudge the numbers to give themselves space for tax cuts, increased funding for programs, popularity, or whatever. David's attempt to make the Chinese stand out in that regard is just a way of saying he doesn't like the Chinese government.

The WSJ is probably more correct and the Chinese economy could slow down enough to cause a world economic slowdown. It would affect both American and British politics. Stay tuned.
