So, as per usual, I slump here before my computer screen still in my jim-jams and dressing gown and 'crooze' through the 'nooze' which, of course, remains as tedious and repetitive as ever, when suddenly I strike gold! Needless to say, I find it in the best magazine in the world, The Spectator!
It is an article written by a 16-year old Iranian girl who, luckily for her, has relocated to Britain from her previous home in Iran. In it she rails against the dictatorship of the hijab and the nasty, bullying activities of the 'modesty' police who infest the streets of her home country. Honesty compels me to admit that part of me yearns for a 'modesty' police force here in the UK to stop silly young women dressing like prostitutes as they stagger round our city centres dead drunk and inviting the attentions of any male rapist who is around. However, that is a very small part of my thought processes and I would never insist on it as public policy.
Miss Soutiam Goodarzi, the author of the article, describes her life in Iran and the dictatorship of men under which she lived. Also, she takes a shot at those 'sillies' who bend over backwards to forgive foreign cultures:
I have found my life in Britain to be a liberation, but it staggers me to see so much nonsense spoken about the hijab and the regime I escaped. There are brave women imprisoned in Iran for various infractions of the modesty code; there are women who have been treated appallingly for wearing a hijab that is too loose or transparent. More recently, there have been women punished for not wearing a hijab. And yet the hijab is now celebrated in the West. ‘It’s OK to be modest,’ say the hijab’s apologists. Well of course, but there is nothing modest about brushing over the suffering of the women and girls of Saudi Arabia and Iran.
Well said, Miss Goodazi, and keep saying it loud and clear!
She is worth a listen by our Western ruling class elites. Trouble is, because of the rot caused by political correctness, she won't be. Truth and evidence are kryptonite to the PC crowd.

Miss Soutiam Goodarzi, the author of the article...
Well, if she's got a good arse, no wonder the girl wants to show it off.

I spent some considerable time in Saudi in the late 90s and early 00s and have vivid memories of the Mutaween strictly enforcing the dress requirements. Even if this story https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2002_Mecca_girls%27_school_fire is not true (and I believe it is) the fact that it gained so much traction shows how fanatical the clerics were/are. Good article from the young lady.
