Pure "Hollywood Americana" has been driving my wife and me to decades old British "not Hollywood" tv fare. Good stuff as there are no needlessly conflicted characters, no newly "woke" idiots that take leave of common sense and reality. The lines are always clearly spoken...except for certain Yorkshire types who to this day I can't work out what is being mumbled.

If it all becomes too much, David, it's comforting to know that there are, at present, 122 episodes of Midsomer Murders.

Don't remind me, Malcolm, the 'Missus' loves 'em and they are replayed constantly on TV such that I have seen all of them at least five times! I may murder both Barnabys one of these days!

Actually, if anyone is interested, after my 'bore-a-thon' on "Line of Duty", in some despair at the nonsense in the last series, I went back to the first series which is the one that features the excellent Lennie James as a brilliant, black, rising, senior detective who through a series of accidents is dragged into criminality and is destroyed. Simply superb!
