So no change there then, I suppose! Even so, I do just want to say that the late, great Bob Fosse was a theatrical/cinematic genius. Last night, entirely by accident, I happened upon his film "Chicago". How did I ever manage to miss it until now? I have raved, many a time and oft', on this blog about his superb film, "Cabaret", but somehow I missed "Chicago" although the 'Memsahib' told me that we once saw a stage version with Liza Minnelli - how could I have forgotten that?
Actually, I rate "Cabaret" higher than "Chicago" mostly because the storyline is deeper. Even so, the sheer inventiveness of Fosse's choreography in "Chicago" is totally brilliant, and his cinematography in the way in which he shoots the dance sequences is beyond brilliant. Mind you, this was no 'one-man show', I almost giggled at the credit listings at the end of the film which were nearly as long as the text of "War and Peace"!
In the unlikey event that you have not seen it yet - go buy a video - NOW!
I saw Cabaret at the Octagon Theatre in Bolton when I was a kid. I still have a business card from The Beautiful Bobby, who was one of the showgirls.
'Girl' being, man in drag. Just my luck to get comedy hit on by a bloke

Casting Richard Gere in a part requiring a Fred Astaire is like having Bojo play Winston.
