Yesterday I was looking at my hands! Yes, well, life is a tad boring quiet round these parts and I gave up looking in the mirror decades ago - simply too, too demoralising! Anyway, there I was, looking at my hands when I had a totally un-original thought. They are an example of perfect design!
Take a look at your own. Notice how the fingers are unequal in length which is probably better than having them all exactly the same length. Then there is the exceedingly useful feature that, apart from the knuckle joint, there are two further 'hinges' along their length which allows you to change the shape of your fist. Finally, there is that exceedingly useful thumb, set further down and off to one side to make gripping things much easier. Of course, they were not designed that way, they simply evolved that way.
What a piece of work is a man, how noble in reason, how
infinite in faculties, in form and moving how express and
admirable, in action how like an angel, in apprehension how like
a god!
Yes, yes, alright, perhaps old Bill went a bit OTT but when you think about it, he was spot on.
I gave up on mirrors too. Last time I saw myself, I saw death eating a soda cracker.
The forefinger works so well with the thumb because the joint at the base of the thumb works in multiple directions. The joint is often referred to as a 'saddle joint'...not to be confused with a seedy hangout for cowboys and the like.

Did Will have anything to say about male pattern baldness?

The deepest thought I have ever had about my hands is that they need lotion.

Bob, he should have done given his own personal appearance!
No, no, dear Miss Red, all they need is a courteous kiss, er, from me, actually!

Just have a quiet lie-down until the feeling passes.
