A couple of days ago I wrote a sympathetic post on the rising discontent in France under the, er, charismatic leadership of mini-Macron. Today I read in The Telegraph that Germany - you know, the powerhouse of Europe - is experiencing a fairly hefty economic decline! Smile? Me? Absolutely not although I confess to the smallest of sniggers when I recall all those 'wiseacres' who warned that Britain would face economic catastrophe if we pressed ahead with leaving the EU!
Of course, I do not want to see a Europe in decline. We need prosperous neighbours and not just for trade relations. Impoverished countries tend to take to the streets to solve their problems and that, of course, never works. Mind you, if it drives the British economy to look further than just across the Channel and the North Sea, that could be helpful. After decades of self-induced subjugation to Brussels, now is the time for Britain to look world-wide.
Well said Cpl Duff. Hopefully our European neighbours will retain their dignity and kick the EU into touch.

You are too nice by far. I would like to see the Germans rounding up the Moslems and the French going down to the Yellow Vests. We can just do each others washing or something.
