Dammit! Doesn't he realise that conservatives, either small 'c' or large 'C', are never keen on 'yuuuuuuuuge' government spending sprees. If we had wanted that sort of thing we would have voted for 'Jezza'! Even less do we want tax increases to pay for all these 'Boris Bonanzas'. He's only been PM for a couple of months and already he's planning his 'monuments'! And already I am wondering who I am going to vote for at the next election! And what the hell is Rees-Mogg doing there sitting on the front bench?
Someone pass the sick-bag!
Calm thyself! It's a show.

Yes, Whiters, but I'm paying for the tickets and they're bloody expensive!

It's not just the expense. Boris and Dom might be playing a very clever game: wrong-footing opponents, creating diversions, and (with the carbon policies) even thinking strategically to protect UK industries.
But if the electorate don't see it, he will be punished. He's got to do things which are popular as well as clever. And we can't even be sure he's being clever, yet!

Bobo is probably doing the political thing; trying to consolidate power. If he can be seen as the conservative nationalist and service the welfare state and center left, there's no reason for a majority to ever vote Labour. Problem is, trying to be everything to everybody has its limits. Just ask Tony Blair.
