I like to think of Baltimore as 'my city'! No, no, not because I have any links to the place, heaven forfend, no, it's just that ever since I first started watching "Homicide: Life on the Street" and the numerous follow-on TV police series, I have always had a sot spot for the dump, oops, sorry, I mean city! Alas, as far as I can tell, as the years have gone on, the 'dump' has slid further and further into decrepitude. Mostly, of course, this is due entirely to the never-ending Democrat 'mafia' that has run the place for decades. Like Chicago, it says much about the low intelligence of the mainly black citizens who year after year continue to vote these political crooks into office.
However, today there is good news in the fact that a previous mayoress of the city has just been 'banged up' for 3-years for fraud and corruption. She is Ms. Catherine Pugh and I am happy to report, courtesy of Zero Hedge, that further "state perjury charges" are pending.
That may be well and good, but what replaced her isn't much better. I used to go to Baltimore, specifically Fells Point, for fun. But that was years ago, and there have always been no-go areas in B'more. I haven't been in years other than to say goodbye to my dying sister as she was in hospital there.

Would it be politically incorrect to point out that white people elected Boris Johnson as PM? You know, the same loud, portly fellow who decided herd immunity was just the ticket to beating Covid and ended up in hospital?
White people also elected an ignorant malignant narcissist and compulsive liar as POTUS. There is considerable evidence that hasn't worked out for the best either.
And Hayek was a bum.

"There is considerable evidence that hasn't worked out for the best either."
Says somewheres near maybe half the people who'll be voting come November - I'll put a hundred bucks on it right here and now Bob Trump wins re-election. You'll be calling I expect? Raise perhaps?
We can mail David our checks/cheques and calmly wait.

"Would it be politically incorrect to point out that white people elected Boris Johnson as PM?"
I have no idea, Bob, I don't 'do' political correctness - you may have noticed!
Also, Bob, a 'yuuuuuuuge' number of white people also voted for 'Obamarama', who according to very many people was yet another "ignorant malignant narcissist and compulsive liar"!
JK, don't mail me your cheques, I'll spend the money in a flash! I was once a second-hand car dealer - 'nuff said!

David,
Does the fact some American cities have seen better days mean that rural areas are superior? There's a saying over here that out in the country a virgin is a girl who can outrun her brothers. Statistically, there's more divorce and teen pregnancy in rural states, and nearly anyone not involved in cooking methamphetamine is busy drunkenly beating his wife while the kids occupy themselves torturing cats and dogs. Try to keep some perspective.
JK,
Save your money for hydroxychloroquine.

The Babylon Bee has a lot of funny stuff, JK. If anyone here wants some comic relief from David (?) they should give it a look.
I got off the original point, David. Black people didn't vote for either Boris or Trump in anywhere near significant numbers.

"Black people didn't vote for either Boris or Trump in anywhere near significant numbers."
While I'll not speak to whether the numbers for Boris may increase (if) the next time Bob I will go out on a limb and mention I'm seeing signs here in the US the black support for Trump definitely seems to be going up. Perhaps not in Baltimore but in points south I definitely see an upswing. Hispanics too for that matter.

JK,
Maybe you should take some Windex to your crystal ball.
Posted by: Bob | Friday, 10 April 2020 at 16:14
Bob,
I'm (almost) willing to bet another hundred bucks I've got in the neighborhood of 80% more African Americans in my email contact list than you do. Mine's around 105 last I made an actual effort to count 'em up [2016] and certainly more since - in 32 states incidentally.
Now admittedly of those probably 70% of the 105 are fellow military veterans (of all branches except the Coasties) with a fair percentage being LE so I'm thinking my need of Windex is far likelier to be less than yours.
My total email contacts number - which number certainly is skewed as likely 10% are businesses/government - currently (I just logged in and looked) stands at 984.
