Been to Seattle several times. Great port and lovely city back then.

Big surprise was to find several old tram cars [street cars] from our Melbourne system running along the foreshore.

Seems the local administration is now reaching peak stupid and the mayor is truly a dumb blonde. Not surprised to find she is a Democrat.
Perhaps a coalition of locals whose businesses have been destroyed should try a class action and sue the mayor and her administration for squillions.

I guess this madness was bound to happen in Blue cities run by Democrats for so many years. They are coping with the failure of the only governing model they have ever known–over 50 years of Great Society social welfare state. No one in government knows what to do. Democrats always expect to be elected so nothing changes.

One thing is certain after a half century, governments did this to black communities. Great Society liberalism now has a track record. So, it will be burn it down, leave the ruins standing and make more government social programs available. Dems will "take a knee" aka grovel just to maintain power at all cost.

Those armed men (wot, no wimmin?)will be the ones expected to sort out problems like sewage, sick children, petty disputes, and supplies of food. That will be when things get really interesting.

I think Blighty is going to beat you in this race to the bottom, hands down ...

If Blighty loses the credibility of the world, which seems inevitable now, the end will accelerate and come mercifully quickly.

The statue of Winston Churchill has now been boarded up by Sadiq Khan ...

The German episode of Fawlty Towers has been pulled by the BBC ...

First they came for Little Britain and I shrugged and said: “Fair enough, I suppose - although they could have just edited out the dodgy sketches and left the rest.”

Then they came for Bo’ Selecta and I didn’t speak up, because it’s fairly awful and comedian Leigh Francis’ weepy “mea culpa” video was irritatingly self-indulgent.

Then they came for The League Of Gentleman and The Mighty Boosh, which is more regrettable but at least the BBC stood by them and didn’t remove it from iPlayer.

But then they came for Fawlty Towers and enough was enough. It’s time to take a stand. Just don’t mention the war.

The pace is quickening towards oblivion. But fast forward for a moment. To the day when the IMF steps in and declares the country bankrupt. To when the mob rises up and tears Blighty's cities apart like it did in 2011, not for 5 days and nights, but forever. Global capital and the middle class depart. The end of times.

Who will it be? Who will lead Blighty out of the end of times? Whose statue will be placed on a plinth next to Winston Churchill's, recovered and polished and full of pride, as a monument to Blighty's indomitable ability to find a leader in the nick of time? Daughter of a corner shop owner? B-rate movie actor?

Where are they now, I wonder? What are they thinking?

"Comfortably Numb"

"Doesn’t Durkan realize that no matter what she does these people still want her to resign?

The best part came when CNN's Chris Cuomo asked Durkan how long she thinks this will last in Seattle.

Her answer: “I don’t know. We could have the summer of love.”

It is time to see if Mr Trump has the gonads everyone thinks he does.

Title 10 US Code #253 From the insurrection act.

The President, by using the militia or the armed forces, or both, or by any other means, shall take such measures as he considers necessary to suppress, in a State, any insurrection, domestic violence, unlawful combination, or conspiracy, if it—

(1)so hinders the execution of the laws of that State, and of the United States within the State, that any part or class of its people is deprived of a right, privilege, immunity, or protection named in the Constitution and secured by law, and the constituted authorities of that State are unable, fail, or refuse to protect that right, privilege, or immunity, or to give that protection; or

(2)opposes or obstructs the execution of the laws of the United States or impedes the course of justice under those laws.

In any situation covered by clause (1), the State shall be considered to have denied the equal protection of the laws secured by the Constitution.

That's not a natural blonde: that's a bottle blonde. Allegedly

She looks well groomed with nice dentistry. Maybe the blacks will grow up and see the real enemy and not the police who are trying to limit the culling.
