Because voting Democrats over the last few decades have fewer than "3 brain cells", thus they vote Dem and feel good about it knowing absolutely nothing will change. Nor can there be any change allowed if voters swept in Republicans as mayors and town councils and governors. Down they go as they make the national news in the process. The virus and the riots have focused attention on solid Dem cities and states.

"Petty tyrants abound. In a crisis, the left turns to authoritarianism; the right fights for liberty. "The welfare of the people in particular has always been the alibi of tyrants." Camus. The COVID-19 pandemic has served one particular purpose: it has demonstrated for all to see how much the left bends toward authoritarianism while the right is left to fight for freedom."

One word: Trump.

Hum ... David?

Y'all been looking around for a navy ain'tcha?

Well we got the start of a navy y'all can buy. Cheap. Almost brand spanking new.

I'm telling you what David, you talk up to Boris about buying that little bit of a starter navy an' before too long y'all can be so set up you can probably start making plans to invade ... oh I don't know, Portugal maybe?

Oh heck a brainstorm David. Invade Scotland!

You ask David, "Why would anyone vote Democrat?"

Well holy toledo David, that's easy:

It's to keep federal law enforcement and the judiciary in practice!

One more David:

That's the last one.

I promise.

C.S. Lewis:

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."

Trump is as good a reason NOT to vote Democrat as any we've had for a very long time. But the best reason of all is the Democrats themselves. Right now we hold the Ring of Power, and they are hell-bent to regain it. Look at what they've managed to do even without it, and then imagine what will happen if we fail.

In truth, the Democrats shall never rule Narnia or Middle Earth.

Hoping they won't rule the Executive Branch or the Senate any time soon either.

It's so pleasing to recall a time when people thought instinctively as Libertarians. The CS Lewis quote is emblematic of that time and those people.

I said to a colleague recently, "Whatever happened to 'I may disagree with everything you say, but will defend until death your right to say it'?", to which he replied, "No-one ever said that, you made it up".

The Left Axis grip on the education system is the strongest power they possess. Anyone who takes that chess piece would be doing civilisation a massive favour.

Thanks, Malcolm. I hadn't gotten the drift.
