Er, for my absence, that is! Alas, I have been on funeral duty - no, not mine! - for a very old and dear friend. 'SoD', bless his cotton socks, drove all the way down here to take us to the venue. I was asked to say a few words but don't ask me what I said! I did not prepare a eulogy, I simply made it up as I went along, so at least it came from the heart and from the memory of many good times in the past.

Sorry for your loss, David. The wife and I counted 7 funerals we attended in the last 2 years, most of them for family members. We also knew 2 people who died of covid and couldn't have funerals. Being old just isn't all that much fun.
